Driveways brought back to life

Genuine Kent jobs — block paving stripped of weeds, moss and years of grime, then re-sanded. Same driveway, transformed.

Why It Matters

A clean drive lifts the whole property

Your driveway is the first thing anyone sees. Block paving and slabs slowly fill with weeds, moss, algae and oil, turning green-black and slippery — and in Kent's damp coastal air it happens fast. A proper clean strips all of that back and instantly makes the whole front of the house look cared for.

We clean drives across Folkestone, Hythe, Hawkinge, Cheriton and the surrounding villages — from small forecourts to long sweeping driveways.

Surfaces We Clean

Block paving, concrete, slabs & more

We clean and restore block paving, concrete, imprinted/pattern-imprinted concrete, natural stone, slabs and tarmac drives. Different surfaces need different pressure and technique — block paving gets re-sanded, delicate surfaces get a gentler wash — and we set the right approach for yours so it comes up clean without damage.

How We Work

Our driveway cleaning process

  1. Prep. We clear the surface and pre-treat weeds, moss and algae so it all lifts cleanly.
  2. Clean. A flat-surface cleaner gives a consistent, stripe-free finish across the whole drive, with a lance for edges and detail.
  3. Treat. Oil stains and stubborn marks are spot-treated where possible.
  4. Re-sand. Kiln-dried sand is brushed back into block paving joints to stabilise the blocks and help keep weeds out.

Common Questions

Driveway Cleaning FAQs

Will pressure washing damage my block paving?

No — done properly it's completely safe. We use the correct pressure and a flat-surface cleaner, then brush kiln-dried sand back into the joints afterwards, which is the step a lot of people miss. That re-sanding is what keeps the blocks stable and weeds down.

Do you re-sand block paving afterwards?

Yes, always. Once the drive is clean and dry we brush fresh kiln-dried sand into the joints. It locks the blocks in place, helps stop weeds coming straight back and gives a proper finished look.

Can you get rid of weeds and moss for good?

We remove all the weeds and moss and can apply a biocide treatment to slow regrowth significantly. Nothing keeps a drive weed-free forever outdoors, but a proper clean plus treatment sets it back a long way — and it's easy to keep on top of after that.

Can you remove oil stains?

We treat oil and tyre marks and lift most of them. Very old, deeply soaked-in oil doesn't always come out completely, but we'll always tell you honestly what to expect before we start.

How much does driveway cleaning cost?

It depends on the size of the drive, the surface and how much weed/moss build-up there is. Quotes are free and no-obligation — send a photo or get in touch and we'll give you a clear price.

Are you insured?

Yes — Sharps Exterior Cleaning is fully insured with £5,000,000 public liability cover and is a Checkatrade-approved member.
